Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Kronolog (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Asli S (“we”, “us”).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Beta Service
Kronolog is currently in beta. The Service is provided as-is, without any uptime guarantees or service level agreement. Features may change, be added, or be removed without prior notice. We will do our best to preserve your content, but we recommend keeping local backups of any work you consider important.
4. Your Account
You sign in via GitHub OAuth. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you become aware of any unauthorised use, notify us at support@kronolog.com immediately.
Your public handle is part of your profile URL. You may change it in Settings, subject to availability. Handles that have been released are subject to a 90-day grace period before they become available to others. We reserve the right to reclaim handles that are inactive, misleading, or that infringe third-party rights.
5. Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create on Kronolog — posts, notes, and profile information. By publishing content on the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service (for example, showing your published posts to other users or in RSS feeds). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
Private posts are visible only to you and are never shared with other users or indexed by search engines. We do not sell your content or use it to train AI models.
By posting content, you represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to that content, and that it does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- post content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or harassing;
- infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
- distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial messages;
- post content that is primarily promotional without substantial original value;
- impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without our written consent;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our infrastructure;
- use the Service in any way that could disable, damage, or impair it.
7. Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content on Kronolog infringes your copyright, please send a notice to support@kronolog.com that includes:
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
- identification of the infringing content and its location on the Service;
- your contact information (name, address, email);
- a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
We will review valid notices promptly and remove infringing content where appropriate. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
8. Enforcement and Termination
To keep the platform safe and fair, we enforce these Terms actively. Depending on the severity and frequency of a violation, we may take any of the following actions:
- Warning — a notice that a behaviour violates these Terms.
- Content removal — posts or profile content that breach these Terms may be hidden or deleted by our moderation team.
- Temporary suspension — your account is locked for a defined period.
- Permanent ban — your account is permanently closed and access to the Service is revoked.
Severe violations — including but not limited to posting illegal content, harassment, large-scale spam, or attempting to compromise the security of the platform — may result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning.
Where practicable, we will inform you of the reason for any enforcement action. You may contest a decision by contacting us at support@kronolog.com. You may also delete your own account at any time from the Settings page.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or content posted by users. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party sites. Links do not imply endorsement.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of data. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for free-tier users, is zero).
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Berlin, Germany, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
